TrendSpark: Fashion Bonds

Has bondage become an acceptable norm in fashion? Every season, we see designers parade women in post-Victorian corset styled dresses which push breasts up and limit breathing. In the first Pirates of the Caribbean a corseted Kira Knightly falls into the ocean when her tight corset causes her to faint.  Now the pages of Let Them Eat Cake (a thought far removed from the models featured in the mag), feature child like girls tied up in compromising positions.

Have we left the safety zone of skin-tight fashions and headed straight into submissive bondage?

While I’ve never been ashamed to admit that I like to tie up a lady or two in the bedroom (actually, I might want to consider being ashamed of that one), I can’t understand why the thought of the submissive female is so prevalent in fashion?  Rarely do you see the male in such a role. They are usually portrayed as the dominant figure.

Come one indies, make a change. Let’s see more spreads with dominant females next season.  You start it. Well promote it.
