Trendspark: Models Piercing Their Nipples!
Back in HS, tongue and bellybutton piercings were the new trend. Girls would stick-out their tongue, or pull up their shirt, to show you their new accessory. But more recently I couldn’t help but notice that the trend of pierced nipples is becoming more mainstream, especially with the models. What’s even more surprising is that they’re showing it off on both the runways (Abbey Lee for Calvin Klein F/W08) and in editorials (Agyness Deyn for i-D magazine & Catherine McNeil for Vogue Germany).
This raises an interesting question: Will the luxury brands get into this new niche accessory market, next? Say a Louis Vuitton nipple ring, or a Gucci emblemed nipple bar? And is there a difference between getting your right or left nipple pierced?
