TRENDSPARK: The Picnic Look
I’ve always been weary of any checkered patterns for fear of looking like a picnic tablecloth. However, with the recent picnic pattern trend hitting the rack this spring, I’m not sure whether I should ease my fear or begin questioning the sanity of the fashion industry. To be honest, the picnic checkered pattern, especially when in combination with ant accessories, is rather childish and appears as if it belongs in some kind of costume shop. Though I might not be gung-ho on this trend, if you’re going to attempt it, please, for the sake of mankind, keep the checks to a minimum. I don’t think I can handle seeing anyone in the tablecloth dress, wearing the picnic shoes and an ant bracelet….
