It’s weird to think of Karl Lagerfeld as a young designer but here he is in 1955 at the age of 21 taking 2nd place in a coat design competition. Who won first? None other than the late great Yves Saint Laurent!!! I think it’s so funny how nervous he looks accepting his prize ( and how unibrowed!?! ). Thank god he got some swagger and some tweezers.
