We’re Moving on Up. To the East Side. To a Deluxe Office. In the Sky.

Big News Indies!!!  Fashion Indie’s getting bigger. We’re moving on up to offices at 57th and 3rd (which kind of explains the DOV salon twitters yesterday). The space is big enough to hold our growing staff and we move in on MONDAY!!!

So, in honor of the big move, we’re looking for more interns.

Here is what we want, what we really, really want…

1. Don’t be addicted to Abercrombie, Gap, or Forever 21. Unless of course you’re wearing the stuff to be ironic, in which case you are cooler than we thought and can work with us.  If you’re addicted to Urban Outfitters then we might be able to accept you. It’s not the coolest brand on the block, but when cash is tight I guess it’s okay to shop there.

2. Do know more designers than the default “in” designer Marc Jacobs.  We love Marc, everyone loves Marc, but if Marc’s all you love then get the hell away from us cause you’re about as useful as a sleeping pill.

3. Do make us want to be your friend. Daniel Saynt is not the coolest kid on the block. I don’t know obscure bands, designers, or bars in Williamsburg off the top of my head, but if you do, I’ll probably want to be your friend. Be the person who knows what’s a tranny fierce mess before it actually is.

4.  Really love fashion. Really love music. Really love partying in New York City. Really love dressing up. Don’t fake it. We’ll know.

5. We’re a dotcom business with a side addiction for parties. Be somewhat dotcommy.  Have a daily updated blog, know the websites that have the hottest fashions. Know some HTML or Photoshop. Don’t waste our time if you don’t. (okay you can waste or time, we might be able to teach you)
Privileges of interns. 

You’ll spend a good chunk of your time on the web checking out cool sites and talking to their owners.

You’ll be responsible for reaching out to PR firms asking for free goodies to giveaway to our network. We have no problem if some of these goodies are for you.

You’ll come with us to New York Fashion Week.

You’ll work backstage during Fashion Indie Week Brooklyn.

We’ll give you a cool nickname like “Skipper” or “Hot to Trot Barbie”

You’ll have a shitload of street cred. No joke…
