What You Should Be Reading: Show Details

A rainy Saturday in New York means one thing thing to me…an excuse to pop open my umbrella, hike the twenty-four blocks downtown on Broadway to spend hours upon hours at my favorite fashion magazine hub, Universal News. Well this past Saturday, I came across a newer magazine, one that I can’t understand how I ever lived without!
Maybe it was my self prescribed ADD that got a hold of me, but I was immediately drawn to textbook size magazine hiding on the top shelf of the fashion rack. Show Details, an Italian based fashion bible, is a four issue catalogue of fashions from Italy, Paris, various nations around the world and the last specifically dedicated to men’s fashions.
But this magazine is more than just a taste of each season’s designer collections. It is an in depth look at the trends, styles and models involved in each show. Show Details describes their aesthetic as showing “models, materials, fabrics, prints, accessories, laces, embroideries, trimmings, cuts, buttons, zippers, applications and all the details in the looks just been on show seen from close up!”
For those of us whose last name isn’t Wintour or Lamphear, this magazine is basically the only way to see all of the designer collections, up close and personal. And for those of you who don’t have a photographic memory, this is a concrete way to keep track of the season’s fashion fabulousness.
$90 a pop or $340 for a 12-month subscription (all 4 magazines) on iSubscribe. Expensive? Yes. Worth it? Completely.
Hey Santa…remember me? I’ve been awesome this year.
