When Vogue was Good
As I stated earlier it is my mission prove how much American Vogue sucks. But today I am not going to shit on Anna Wintour. Instead I want to highlight when American Vogue under Anna Wintour was good. Because Anna Wintour did indeed create some groundbreaking covers. The below image is one of them. This November 1988, shortly after Wintour assumed the post of editor-in-chief, was the first high/low fashion image. Wintour paired a $10,000 Christian Lacroix t-shirt with a $50 pair of jeans. This idea of mixing high fashion with low fashion would become much imitated and cans till be seen to today.
So my question is where did the innovation go?
