A Post in which I Window Shop and Fall Madly, Deeply in Love with Charlotte Olympia
For those following along, two weeks ago I spent a good amount of time in Miami, partying it up with our fellow fashionites at Art Basel. Today, I’m reliving my shopping adventure through Bal Harbour shops, a luxury destination for well tanned ladies with cash to spend. I lust after Chanel platforms, a Stella body suit, and McQueen after the jump.
The first stop on my personal shopping tour was Neiman Marcus. As part of Art Week, the store partnered with Charlotte Olympia and introduced an exclusive collection of her signature Dolly heels. Each hand-painted piece was inspired by a different artist including Picasso, Litchenstien, Mondrian, Van Gogh, Hodgkin, and Pollack.
These looked phenomenal in person and I was absolutely in love with the Starry Night shoe, which just seemed perfect for my late night rendezvous. I started checking out Charlotte online and spotted these, which are currently in my shopping cart, and will hopefully make their way to me before New Years.
The rest of her collection was in full display at Neimans, which had me craving a little kitty for my feeties.
Aside from the Olympia’s, which I’m currently imaging are mine already, I really loved this flower clutch [above] and these Chanel platforms [below] which seem like completely impractical buys since I’ll probably stomp around them once and be over them.
After bumping into Wes Gordon, I hit the fitting room, crew in tow, and finally made a purchase, this sleeveless T by Alexander Wang neoprene dress in rust [Available at Alexander Wang, $228]. Some people in the industry feel his past collections will now be collectable since he’s off to Balenciaga, I think that’s bullshit, I just wear him cause I’m his bitch. I also picked up the Carolina Herrera clutch that I featured here [Available at Neiman Marcus, $39]
The best find of the day was the new Saint Laurent Paris store opening at Bal Harbour, the first from Hedi’s new vision for the brand. It’s located directly across from YSL.
I’ve established that my New Year’s tree needs more Lanvin in it.
Marc will always have my heart.
Drop crotch, leopard-print, three piece suit by Stella McCartney. You will be mine.
First Louis Vuitton went polka with Yayoi Kusama. Now Valentino is in on the trend.
I know these are totally in the vein of Gaga, and I’m the furthest thing from a Little Monster, but I’m really feeling these Giuseppe Zanotti’s right now. Feels like what Mad Max would wear if he was a chick. [Available at Net-a-Porter, $2950]
This Cavalli piece was just insanity. Can’t find it online, so on my lust list.
One of the highlights was this McQueen dress, currently on loan from the ateliers archives. I’m so in love with this piece and I’ve been trying to imagine all the ways in which someday, somehow, I will be able to wear this. I think it might become my Everest and I’ll spend the better part of my remaining years on earth attempting to become friendlies with Sarah Burton, in hopes that when we are besties, we’ll have a girls weekend/sleepover, and she will just happen to have one of these laying in her closet next to her mom jeans and white button ups.
Yeah, I can sooooooo see that happening one day…
