Luxury landmark Bergdorf Goodman feted their 111th Anniversary with a Paris Theater advance screening of the documentary “Scatter My Ashes at Bergdorf’s” followed by a lavish party on the store’s jewelry & accessories floor. Between brushing elbows with Linda Fargo and nibbling on endless pouches of caviar in the mansion, we felt just like the Vanderbilts.
“Scatter My Ashes at Bergdorf Goodman” is a documentary film about the inner workings of the most luxurious retailer in America. With appearances ranging from the store’s current doorman to an endorsement from kaiser Karl Lagerfeld, the film covers every aspect of the store’s inner sanctum.
After the film, we funneled into the store which had been decorated in violet lit chandeliers and orchids spiraling up to the ceiling. What seemed like endless trays of caviar creme fraiche pouches, truffled balls of something, and mini chocolate mousse mountains, caused us to throw the thought of Fashion Week diets out the window. We had lovely chats with Jennifer Missoni, June Ambrose, and Mary Alice Stephenson, who were all in lovely spirits at the near close of the busiest week of the New York Fashion season.
Guests included Bergdorf legends Jim Gold and Linda Fargo, and a very fashionable social set of: Phillip Bloch, Lady Liliana Cavendish, Olivia Chantecaille, Erin Fetherston, Nancy Gonzalez, Naeem Khan, Lily Kwong, Catherine Malandrino, Lorenzo Martone, Dawn Mello, Minnie Mortimer, Robert Verdi, and Jason Wu.
It is every girl’s dream to be able to shop at Bergdorf’s, but alas, it is not every girl’s reality. Good thing that these chic brands have good freebies though! These gorgeous floral printed silk ribbons are what Balenciaga uses to sample their perfume. We took it upon ourselves to fashion very fancy friendship bracelets from the ribbons, making for a perfect little takeaway from the night.
Happy birthday Bergdorf’s!
