Vanity Fair just released the 2010 International Best-Dressed List, and amongst the Michelle Obamas and Diane Krugers was… Helena Bonham Carter? Say what now!?
Helena Bonham Carter, whose famously quirky style is criticized more often than not, was surprised at her own nomination. “’It made me laugh because I thought it was a joke when I found out,” she told the NY Daily News.
But, as Vanity Fair explains, “the list about individual taste, not fashion trends.” Carter certainly marches to the beat of her own drum, citing Marie Antoinette as a fashion inspiration and even referring to herself as the “Antichrist of fashion.”
As much as we adore the woman and her bold style, it is technically called the International Best-Dressed List, not the International List of Women With No Fashion Inhibitions.
