ASK TRACEY: Should I give him the benefit of the doubt? Or on to the next one…?
Hmmm… Does dating older guys really cut out a lot of the stupid BS we deal with when it comes to guys?!
I’ve been seeing these guy for a couple months now who is older than me. I did this for a purpose; so I wouldn’t have to deal with the same B.S. and mind games as people my age. (I’ll be 22 soon.) Anyway, things have been really great. It is casual, but respectful. Up until recently, I feel like I haven’t been getting as much attention or any reciprocation from him–as I give him a lot. He canceled plans last minute last weekend, and this weekend looks like he’s “too busy.”
Should I give him the benefit of the doubt? Or on to the next one…?
Hope to hear from you soon!
Hate to say it girl… but on to the next one! If he blew you off your plans last minute this past weekend and now he’s apparently “too busy” to hang out, then he might not be that interested! I know it sucks to hear it, but sometimes you need to! I understand your mentality for wanting to date an older guy, but maybe it’s just the type of guys you gravitate towards that are full of BS and mind games, regardless of age.
My advice is to play it cool with this older guy. Do not go out of your way to call/text/Facebook/Tweet him! Go out with your girlfriends and enjoy Summer! If he is truly interested in you & wants to be with you, he will realize what he is missing out on and come to you! If I learned anything from “He’s Not That Into You” it’s that if a guy wants to hang out with you, he will make the effort to hang out with you! Until this older guy cuts the BS and mind games, go live your life and enjoy your youth!
