Beware of a new Twitter scam that’s invaded the Twitterverse. Posing as a “click here” message to find how many hours you’ve spent Tweeting, your account will soon start slingin’ spam.
The message reads: “I have spent 11.6 hours on Twitter. How much have you? Find out here.”
After clicking the link, a popup attempts to install a bogus “Time on Twitter” application. If downloaded, your account will shoot the same message to all your friends without permission.
Ah, yes. The small round birds of the Twitterverse are safe once again from the clutches of evil spammers. Happy Tweeting, Tweeters! #SoundsDirty
