In a fashion coup by former French Vogue editrix-in-chief and stylist extraordinaire, Carine Roitfeld has joined the team at Harper’s Bazaar as their world dominating Global Fashion Director.
Roitfeld will be collaborating on several stories over the year with creative director Stephen Gan for all 26 editions of the worldwide fashion magazine. Talk about multitasking! She also plans to continue working on her newly launched magazine CR Fashion Book. How excited is Bazaar right now?
“Carine is one of the fashion world’s most influential tastemakers and we look forward to seeing what she does with Bazaar,” said Hearst magazines president David Carey. Hearst’s president and CEO Duncan Edwards said, “This collaboration marks the first time anything like this has been done and we’re very excited about what Carine will bring to Bazaar editions around the world. She is a visionary in the fashion world and we are so happy to be working with her.” (WWD)
5 points, Ms. Roitfeld. With the rumors running wild that her rocky relationship with Conde Nast has basically led them to fire her and shun her professionally, this is certainly quite the move for the fashion icon. We live and die for her porno chic style, and if she can somehow manage to share that style with 26 different Bazaar fashion issues, the more stylish we all shall be.
