Models, A-list actors and the fashion forward all appear to kick start their day the same way…with a highly caffeinated drink to go. Here is the truth behind the drinks that have big status appeal but in the real world, lead to even bigger waistlines.
Don’t let the nutrition labels on diet sodas fool you. These drinks may have lower calories, but they are packed with artificial sweeteners that increase weight gain odds and over time are detrimental to

Looks like New York Fashion Week is off to a very, very good start.
Last night we partied our asses off at Johnny V’s Bowery spot for an exclusive private concert featuring NY rockers Alberta Cross and the one and only Guns N’ Roses. Axl Rose signed autographs front row and performed 17 songs including classics like Sweet Child of Mine, Paradise City and Welcome to the Jungle.
The scene at John Varvatos was insane, with

Talk about wrapping a turd in tinfoil and calling it earrings (all to you Mugatu). The Daily News decided to reprint their list of Influential New York Fashionista’s from last year, only adding Lady Gaga to the list and removing some poor lackey who no one cares about anyways. INTERVIEWS OF FASHION: David Alexander

Styled by Hillary Frazier | View Comments

A friend referred me to David Alexander’s site, and on viewing his collections I fell in love with the fur, leather, mesh, studs, jewels, and all of my favorite things compiled into one fashion show. Once I began to speak with David, I found his quirky, enthusiastic and overly creative personality absolutely thrilling, and had to share it with you.
Here’s a little anecdote that got me hooked on David straight away:
So my friend Susan

Vanity Fair’s George Wayne Obviously Does Drugs

Styled by Daniel Saynt, The Dude | View Comments

God, I LOVE THIS SHOW!!!
Last night on Kell on Earth we came ass to mouth with George Wayne, a Vanity Fair contributing editor who isn’t afraid to get into the party. The seemingly inept Contributing Editor was quick to pop one of Kelli’s Swarovski crystals, collected from an installation from Genetic Denim, without asking or wondering what that camera was doing there filming him. That’s called “life of the party” in my book.
This otherwise

TEAM TAVI: Why Dying Media Whores Can’t Stand a Successful 13 Year Old Blogger?

Styled by Daniel Saynt, The Dude | View Comments

In a winded article for AOL’s Stylelist (the formerly glorious dotcom’s attempt at hard hitting fashion “coverage”) a fairly jaded New York writer Katie Hintz-Zambrano decides to jump on the Tavi-bashing bandwagon by complaining about the 13-year old’s access to fashion designers, front row seating and overall influence in the industry.
As a blogger who’s often been targeted by larger media publications for my own personal approach to blogging, I found the article to be a

Last year we got lampooned for announcing our plans to crash Christian Siriano’s show. Some reporter from The New York Observer who had obviously never been to fashion week called us out and claimed we were ruining bloggers relationships with designers.  There was major hoopla on the blogosphere, orchestrated by the least useful person in fashion blogging (you know who you are).
This season the gloves are coming off and we’re sharing with all our
