Wow….is the first word that comes to mind when looking at these beautiful pieces from Stella McCartney’s Spring 2010 collection. The colors, the ruffles, the designs…….magnificent!

RUNWAY: Yohji Yamamoto Spring/Summer 2010

RUNWAY: Yohji Yamamoto Spring/Summer 2010 Destroyed, androgynous, matronly, night-gown inspired biker chic? Huh, well, it seems to me that Yohji Yamamoto had several bases to cover for his Spring 2010 collection. That being said, the biker pieces were safe, the shredded pyjamas, probably unwearable, and the matronly maids outfits just downright ugly. As for the hair and makeup, they’re just the cherry on top of the “I’ve seen better from Yamamoto” sundae.

RUNWAY: Christian Dior Spring/Summer 2010

RUNWAY: Christian Dior Spring/Summer 2010 John Galliano travelled back in time to the 1940’s for his Spring 2010 collection, bringing some modern versions of mini trench coats and a hell-of- a lot of lingerie inspired pieces. Things remained pretty true to the Dior house, sexy while keeping classy and affluent. I can’t say there’s anything jaw dropping about this collection, but it’s gorgeous, so not too many complaints from this peanut gallery!

RUNWAY: A.F. Vandevorst Spring/Summer 2010

RUNWAY: A.F. Vandevorst Spring/Summer 2010 Taking the shame out of those typically awkward morning afters, An Vandevorst and Filip Arickx played around with the sexy sheerness of underwear. By turning light and flowing slips into see-through pants, billowing blouses and oversized, masculine blazers, the A.F. Vandervorst Spring 2010 collection is certainly disheveled chic. I love the styling in general, but nothing beats the sheer pants tucked into sheer thigh-high tights! This I have to try!

For Spring/Summer 2010, Karl Lagerfeld would like to take us to the Barn Yard…a giant replica of a barn was built as part of the Chanel runway. A threesome was also staged to make the show even more interesting. As far as the clothes, not quite Animal House chic!

RUNWAY: Balenciaga Spring/Summer 2010

Balenciaga? Is that you? I never pegged Nicolas Ghesquière as a hoodie and jeans type, but it’s different, so I’ll take it! The Balenciaga Spring 2010 was athletic while retaining it’s shock and awe, classiness. While I’m not terribly crazy about the garments that resemble a child’s canvas, I am in love with the molded leather hooded vests and oh, those heels!

RUNWAY: Junya Watanabe Spring/Summer 2010

RUNWAY: Junya Watanabe Spring/Summer 2010Junya Watanabe  not only brought us his infamous crazy headgear, but a collection filled with the trendy menswear for women. Checkered black and white pieces served as safe, yet fun, patterns juxtaposed with Watanabe’s suits, skirts and tights. Everything was rather expected from a Japanese designer, but blowing me out of the water were Watanabe’s incredible pointy toed, black and white lace-ups.

RUNWAY: Haider Ackermann Spring/Summer 2010

RUNWAY: Haider Ackermann Spring/Summer 2010 Haider Ackermann Spring 2010 felt a little like modern day military. Blacks, dark navys and subdued mustards comprised a collection that resembled army parachuters and front line soldiers. As always, loving the leather straps and angular, open front dresses.

RUNWAY: Maison Martin Margiela Spring/Summer 2010

RUNWAY: Maison Martin Margiela Spring/Summer 2010 Sticker books, crotchless chaps, oversized diapers, skinful va-jay jays and used tissues? If you ask me, these were probably the inspirations for the Maison Martin Margiela Spring 2010 collection. Needless to say, MAJOR LETDOWN. Overall, things looked like a middle school craft project- poor construction, cheap materials and minimal heart. And the makeup, don’t even get me started…I could have done a better job and I barely know how to apply eyeshadow.
