Hedi Slimane Ditched the Yves, but Brought 70s Boho Back to Saint Laurent Paris

Edited by

Hedi Slimane did it. His finally public debut at Yves Saint Laurent Paris had us harking back to the boho chic of Saint Tropez in the 70s, where it really all began. Yves’s former partner Pierre Bergé has known all along that Hedi can do no wrong, while the not-invited noted 3-day-old hamburger Cathy Horyn strongly disagrees. What we saw was Slimane digging through the archives, achieving an updated silhouette, and crisp men’s tailoring on the style that solidified the French fashion house’s fame.
