DESIGNER: Lou Dalton
Thanks to this past fashion week, I have a new appreciation for menswear. I’m sure Corey’s taste and insight helped spark my interest, but recently my infatuation has led to me scoping out menswear in my free time (well, looking at male models is a perk too!) and one of designer that can’t go without mention is Lou Dalton. Starting her career in tailoring and pattern cutting, it is no wonder why Dalton’s basic menswear pieces seem to fit so well. Considered “rebellious English sportswear,” Dalton’s classics are the perfect stab at preppy conformity with her tight fits, destructed pieces and obnoxious cable knits. Keep your eyes peeled for a Topshop diffusion line, because it’s on its way!

DESIGNER: Riviera Club
Riviera Club is a new brand from Santa Barbara that consists of some of the most laid back surfer dudes in the industry. Their simple looks and styling really make me want to go to the beach! The latest Spring collection is inspired by an old surfing legend who mysteriously died after heading off on a world tour with nothing more than his surf board and a paid photographer…What a badass!

DESIGNER TO KNOW: Antony Morato
Antony Morato created a collection dedicated to the boy who is not like everyone else. Simple, entertaining, but self-confident and determined, who embodies a luminous exception far from the stereotype of a man of gentle character. To all those who are already the future.

DESIGNER TO KNOW: Lodger Footwear
My attention was recently directed to Lodger Footwear, a London based fine men’s shoe company and despite them being rather basic, conservative shoes, they are some of the most handsome by far. It goes without saying that everyone appreciates a well-made shoe, but it is beyond me how this company releases a new shoe design monthly while maintaining quality and traditional craftsmanship. The great part about Lodger Footwear is their versatility- classy enough to be worn with a suit and casual enough to be dressed down with jeans. Completely loving the black and brown mid-calf lace boots!

DESIGNER TO KNOW: Trippen
Combining modern design, environmental friendliness, sustainability and social responsibility is Berlin based shoe company, Trippen. Stemming from timeless classics and short-lived trends, founders Michale Oehler and Angela Spieth have broken away from traditional footwear with their one-of-a-kind designs and constructions. With local, small production and competitive prices make even the pickiest ethical buyer go crazy over these funky finds. Unlike most designers who create a seasonal collection, Trippen’s existing styles remain available with new designs added to the mix. With shops located throughout Europe and Asia, us USA buyers will have a tougher time getting our feet on Trippen shoes, but about 300€ (plus shipping of course) will take your kicks on a transatlantic journey to your doorstep!
Check out Trippen here!

DESIGNER TO KNOW: WUYORK

DESIGNER TO KNOW: Valou
Valou’s 3cap rings are making a huge appearance in the world of fashion lately, and being picked up by all sorts of fashion and music peeps: Dirk Mai (the first to wear this amazing ring), LIGHTS, Demi Lovato, Audrey Kitching, Nick Santino from A Rocket To The Moon, and Mandy Jiroux..and those were only the ones I could find photos of! The mens rings run around $175, and the women’s $125, but it’s way worth it for the statement you’ll be making with this ring. Definitely a cooler alternative to the over the knuckle two and three fingered rings everyone is wearing lately, if you wear a Valou ring, you’re sure to be asked about it.
Head over to the site to purchase a ring and find out about sizing, there isn’t much info on the designer, but if you know Fashion Indie at all, we’ll investigate it and get your more information (maybe even an interview!) as soon as we can.
Here’s some photos of people we love rocking Valou 3caps:

LAST NIGHT’S EVENT: Rad By Rad Hourani At SoHo Grand
Last night, the fashion people gathered at SoHo Grand to preview the new collection by Rad Hourani. Hourani told Style.com that this unisex line isn’t necessarily a diffusion line (priced from $100-400), but that “this is just more relaxed and easier to wear in cotton and jerseys.” The line will be available in November online and in stores, perfect timing for these pieces, which include a lot of jackets, vests, super skinny jeans, t shirts, and perfectly draped shorts.
Judging from the runway and all of the fashionable people there, must-haves for fall:
-guys in heels
-platforms
-destroyed tees
-partially shaved heads (for guys and girls)
We had the pleasure of seeing the man himself, who was looking fabulous as to be expected. Other sightings, Kelly Cutrone (who told us that she works out in her cowboy boots), Kate Lanphear, Malcom Harris.
See our photos of the runway show, and a few fashion people on Cult

DESIGNER TO KNOW: S***R Shoes
Corey and I just got back from Capsule, and while we were incredibly impressed with the majority of the collections present, we both had a little soft spot for S***R Shoes. S***R has provided kicks for Thom Yorke of Radiohead to Orlando Bloom and even Matthew Williamson! Gathering inspiration from the iconic James Dean, S***R shoes have a recognizable look with the modern convenience of a rubber sole. But S***R Shoes are anything but sneakers. Made from the finest suede and leather, S***R has a variety of amazing boots, oxfords, lace-ups and saddles totally worth getting your feet on!
