Designer shoe label Christian Louboutin has just opened the doors to the newly finished men’s boutique in the Meatpacking District of New York City.
Just making the slated August opening date, Christian Loutboutin finally opened the doors to the official men’s boutique in New York City. Located in the Meatpacking District, the new men’s store features a piece of the High Line train tracks above the door, the signature red carpet, and a floor with leather panels. The store’s decor pays homage to the industrial neighborhood’s history and it also has rehabilitated mirrors from the Park Avenue Armory.
On the second level there is a Tattoo Parlor where customers with tattoos can get digital image of their tattoo and have it embroidered onto their shoes.
This new addition to the Louboutin family is the “first rollout of a true men’s store with men’s branding” and while the sneakers may be the largest draw for the store, they also carry men’s accessories like iPad cases and backpacks.
The origination of the menswear line came from when Louboutin was approached by a woman who had exceptionally large feet and asked him to make a pair of shoes for her. The custom 13.5 size shoes were not purchased by the woman, so Louboutin passed them along to a friend who gave them to her husband and thus the first mens Louboutins shoes were born.
