Today’s Men’s Designer Daily, Christopher Shannon makes bright colors and cool prints accessible to the modern man. He balances the far out style with familiar silhouettes, and guys are digging it. See his newest from Spring ’13, shown this weekend at London’s Men, and learn how he got there from down in working class Liverpool. Oh, and where you can actually buy it.
Paying attention only in his high school drawing classes, and a chance encounter with some designers from Felix Blow led Shannon to Central Saint Martins. Scholarships and an MA from CSM, alongside experience with Kim Jones, Richard Nicoll and Jonathan Saunders have propelled him to the hardworking status that lands him his own collection, and deals with ASOS, Kickers, Eastpak and other cool collaborations.
What you see on the runway is what you’ll find in stores. Shannon doesn’t water it down for the shelves. If you’re in NY, find his wares in Opening Ceremony. But he’s in solid indie boutiques across the world.
