Looks like being the offspring of a famous designer does not guarantee you success. Just ask Ally Hilfiger. After operating for only one year, Tommy Hilfiger‘s daughter has her clothing line NAHM shut down by daddy.
Following the abrupt cancellation of their spring 2013 presentation, Ally Hilfiger and design partner Nary Manivong have released a statement saying they are concluding the production of NAHM and they are parting ways.
There was no direct indication that the young brand was having any sort of financial trouble. While it may have not caught on yet, the line was carried at a variety of boutiques in New York, Tokyo, and London. But like the designer darling’s reality-TV show Rich Girls, it only lasted one year.
Now we’re speculating if Ally simply got bored with the line or if this is some sort of elaborate grounding maneuver pulled by her father. Regardless, we’re pretty sure the world didn’t need another designer with famous fashion blood creating their own label. There can only be one Hilfiger.
