Designers Annalisa Dunn and Dorothee Hagemann met at Central St. Martin in London, and combined their interests in knitwear to form Cooperative Design.
The new a/w collection has been inspired by Jan Svankmajer’s Faust, Dario Argento’s Suspiria, and tribal imagery. Graphic monochrome stripes are contrasted with folk-inspired patterns. A muted colour palette of creams, grey, white and black is lightened with childlike brightly coloured accessories. Extra chunky soft wool is knitted with cut jersey intarsias. Mittens and stockings are made from fine cotton, with wool ribs and hand-printed with folk-inspired patterns. Bags are designed by Corrie Williamson, offering hand-embroidered leather satchel bags, lined with wool.
In addition to the mainline, cooperativedesigns offer a Shadow Collection, a selection of looks from the mainline available in black, using contrasting materials to offer added interest, texture and pattern.
