The Gallery at Hermès Presents Martina Hoogland Ivanow: Far Too Close
Fasten your seatbelt and keep your tray table in the upright position. The Gallery at Hermès is taking visitors on a journey to “the ends of the world.”
Far Too Close by Martina Hoogland Ivanow, showcases photography from faraway places such as the heart of Siberia,Tierra del Fuego on the tip of Argentina and Sakhalin Island in Japan. Mixed in with these exotic images are photos from her home life in Sweden. The Stockholm-based artist’s ethereal journey interchanges between the familiar and the foreign. Her fascination with travel and how it makes us view home with new eyes just might give you the travel bug. And in case you were wondering what to wear for that journey to the heart of Russia’s Lapland…just pop down a floor to check out Hermès’s outerwear collection 2012.
Running through November 24, 2012 at The Gallery at Hermès (691 Madison Avenue, 4th floor)
