Our indie crush of the week has totes been the drop dead stunning Emma Watson. For the past decade she’s always pleasantly surprised as she morphs in and out of Hermione Granger to become a Lady. But let us not forget the bushy haired, buck toothed bookworm that took her to the stratospheric level she’s at today. Today our retrospective reflects on her dorky alter-ego, that ultimately *spoiler* saves the world. We know Harry and Ron wouldn’t last 5 minutes without her. And the movies wouldn’t have lasted five minutes without her if she had actually dropped out after Goblet of Fire to get “an education”.

With that, we take a look back at Hermione’s more awkward moments of Harry Potter:

Hermione, A History

Hermione is a sprightly little know-it-all in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. Director Christopher Columbus ran the first few scenes of the movie with Hermione in fake buck teeth. Upon learning that the little starlet couldn’t speak with them in, they decided her teeth were bucked quite enough for the role.
