FashIndie: You’ve created such a great brand with FEED, what are some of the brands you love?
Lauren Bush Lauren: Ralph Lauren, TOMS, Krochet Kids, and Apple.
FI: FEED has worked with so many amazing brands. What do you look for in your collaborations?
LBL: FEED has already been blessed to partner with brands I really love like Clarins, Godiva, Pottery Barn, Disney, Tory Burch, and many others. I love to collaborate with brands that bring something new to FEED and thus together we are offering consumers are new way to participate with the FEED model and give back. It is a very fun part of my job!
FI: What’s your ultimate goal with FEED?
LBL: My ultimate goal with FEED is to continue to grow the brand organically and strategically while staying true to our mission of feeding people around the world. I hope FEED becomes a household name that is synonymous with giving back and helping others.
FI: You’ve had formal fashion design training at Central Saint Martins and Parsons, can we expect to see a full collection of FEED apparel in the future?
LBL: Collaborating with designers is really fun. We are working with Rachel Roy on a project coming out next year, so that is one to look forward to!
FI: What impact has social media had on your brand?
LBL: Social media has been a wonderful tool for FEED, helping us cultivate more of a FEED community and engage in conversations that are important to our work and to our customers and donors.
In fact, we recently re-launched our blog, now named Beyond the Bag, which will give even more inspiring content from Team FEED and contributors such as Donna Karan, Tina Brown and Rachael Ray.
FI: Now, let’s get a little off topic, truthfully, how often do you go to Dylan’s Candy Bar?
LBL: I probably go once every few months. I live downtown, so am not uptown as often as I would like to visit. It is a really fun store with many tempting treats!
FI: Any New Year’s Resolutions?
LBL: My New Year’s Resolutions are generally the same…to work out more, to be a bit healthier, to learn to cook better… So I think I will be repeating those again this year.
FI: What gifts are you hoping for this season?
LBL: I feel very blessed and that I do not really need anything this year. I did ask for ice skates though, which I used to do a lot as a kid. So we will see if Santa hears this wish!
FI: Do you wear a fragrance daily, if so, which one?
LBL: I do not wear a fragrance every day. If I do wear one, I would wear Lauren by Ralph Lauren, Pomegranate Noir by Jo Malone, or Une Fleur de Chanel by Chanel.
FI: We’re huge on bloggers, are there any who are on your radar? Any possibilities of a collaboration in the future?
LBL: I am a great fan of Erica Domesek from PS I Made This, among many others. Collaborating with anyone creative who has a clear vision and lots of passion is fun!
