We can’t say we didn’t see it coming. Although reports are not confirmed, shouldn’t you believe the rumors if they come straight from the horse’s mouth? In that case the horse happens to be Lady Gaga (not far off ) and the rumor is that Versace’s going to be doing the costumes for her upcoming tour.

Lady Gaga Starts Her Own Rumor That Versace Will Outfit The Born This Way Ball

It seems like there is a new designer collaboration rumor spreading about Versace everyday. Not only was there that story about Lana Del Rey possibly being the new face of the Italian brand, M.I.A. decided to jump on the bandwagon and is reportedly collaborating with the fashion house. Granted if you want to start a rumor about a celebrity, it helps if the celebrity starts it themselves. Pop-star Lady Gaga recently tweeted that Donatella Versace is going to be designing a makeover of the costumes for her ongoing Born This Way Ball.

Now this is actually a rumor that we can start to believe. Donatella and Gaga have become fast friends, what with their mutual love for Terry Richardson and vintage designs. Gaga was the first star that Donatella let browse the Versace vintage archives after the death of Gianni Versace. In fact, she went as far to don the iconic safety pin dress that Elizabeth Hurley made famous on the red carpet. Versace even outfitted Gaga for her 1980s inspired video Edge of Glory.

So this would make sense why the two have gotten so cozy lately. With Gaga’s perfume marketing extravaganza on the back burner, she can now focus on her upcoming album ARTPOP. With her recent collaboration with rapper Kendrick Lamar, Gaga appears to be striving for a new sound. Don’t believe us? Check out her preview video for Cake shot by Terry Richardson. It looks like Gaga’s going street.

So are you looking forward to watching Gaga twerk it in Versace? The pair has collaborated very successfully before, so hopefully Gaga isn’t pulling our gold chains when it comes to this collaboration rumor.
