Louis Vuitton Named the World’s Best Global Fashion Brand
According to a study ranking the estimated total value of worldwide brands, Louis Vuitton has been named the Best Global Brand in the fashion sector.
Not Gucci. Not Burberry. Not Prada. But King Louis Vuitton has been named the most valuable brand in the fashion sector according to a study ranking the “best global brands”.
Ranking 17th on the scale overall Louis Vuitton, with an estimated value of $23.5 billion, comes in behind brands such as Apple, Google, and Mercedez-Benz. The number one global brand was announced as Coca-Cola and is estimated to be worth $77.8 billion.
In the fashion sector, H&M was next behind LV ranking in 23rd place worth an estimated $16.5 billion, Zara was next ranking at 37th place, Gucci came in at an estimated worth of $9.4 billion, and Hermès rounded out the top five fashion brands at an estimated worth of $6.1 billion.
The annual report conducted by Interbrand takes into consideration the financial performance of the brand’s products, the influence the brand holds over consumer purchasing decisions, and how much power the brand has to command the best price.
Sometimes these rankings put the fashion retail world into perspective. With Coca-Cola, Apple, and Google remaining supreme, the fashion companies do not make an appearance until number 17. While the overall worth of Louis Vuitton is impressive, its $23.5 billion is still a far cry from Coca-Cola’s $77.8 billion.
Louis Vuitton is scheduled to show today on the last day of Paris Fashion Week. As fashion’s success is determined season by season, it will be interesting to see if the French brand’s Spring collection will match up to it’s top global position. Only time can tell and if we know anything about fashion, a whole lot can change in a year.
