If you’re seeing spots before your eyes, no need to worry about a stroke — it’s just Louis Vuitton‘s collaboration with Japanese artist and Whoville resident Yayoi Kusama. The collection pops up in SoHo tomorrow and in anticipation, the gods — i.e. Marc Jacobs — have granted a preview in its entirety.

Dots, drop-waists, more dots, some translucent trenchcoats covered in — you guessed it, dots – a little flesh here and there (is that a nipple or a dot?) and the house’s bread and butter — bags and other covetable accessories — feature heavily in the lookbook. It’s all visually-striking, a fitting tribute to the artist, but should those dots start to swirl and blur together you might want to pull the trigger on that stroke verdict.

Story by Lester Brathwaite

I was center square from 1969 to 1978, during which I perfected the art of the zing as well as a crippling cocaine addiction. Bea Arthur was responsible for both. @LesFabian lester at fashionindie.com
