Falling For Fur
Calling all fur fans: 2012 is your year. Draped on the shoulders of celebrities, models, and tastemakers young and old, fur is making a major appearance in fashion right now. From Alexander McQueen to Zac Posen, designers across the board are coming up with inventive ways to style the luxurious material.
With techniques like bright color dying, shearing, weaving and laser cutting, the things that can be done with fur have evolved dramatically in the last few years. Furs today are lighter and warmer than ever, and after watching the runways for Fall 2012, imagination seems to be a designer’s only limit.
The International Fur Trade Federation (IFTF) campaign in their November issue of Vogue even showcases some of this season’s newest fur trends like color blocking at Jeremy Scott and unique patterns at DSquared.
