An Indie in Singapore
May 28, 2013 - by INDIE
I just awoke from a much needed blackout.
Saynt and I just arrived from 7 days in Singapore and 3 days in Dubai. The first half of the trip was put together by the Asia Fashion Summit, which for the second year, asked the hubs to speak and host workshops about the social and how bloggers are changing the world. He's such a smarty.
Putting aside the tropical, sweat-inducing heat which frizzed my hair so bad I ended up using a whole bottle of Moroccan Oil in a few days, Singapore was gorgeous.
Green and lush, yet industrial and innovative, with buildings springing up on all corners, Singaporeans are some of the happiest people, possibly because their city is made up of enlightened foodies and luxury mall rats.
A few of my highlights below.
This thing that looks like a boat in the sky is the Marina Bay Sands, a hotel/casino/nightclub that is basically the coolest place on earth. Seriously, have yet to find somewhere cooler.
Louis Vuitton's marina based Singaporean flagship is one of the best places to shop...
because it houses a gallery in it's basement.
These women where the cutest, sitting front row at the Carolina Herrera show, a highlight of the Audi Fashion Festival.
Seriously, they were all about the nails...
Must visit spot, the TWG Tea Company, which has a three shops in the Marina Bay Sands, one of them was dedicated to tea flavored ice creams. After 7 samples, I got intimate with the White Night Jasmine Tea.
They also had a shop dedicated to these little baddies...
Art's a big part of Singapore, these palmed hands lined the Science Museum.
The food was insanely, other level good, but watching these culinary masters making dumplings was especially enjoyable.
We took a trip around the Singapore Flyer, which offers views of the bay and Marina.
This is a recent project in Singapore. A man-made forest that looks like a painting.
For dinner, we made our way to The White Rabbit, a converted church that had a menu which included delicacies like pigeon. Yeah, pigeon.
I plan to update you a little more tomorrow, with other photos from Singapore and my adventures in Dubai. For dinning on pigeon I wore a Cynthia Rowley paisley print dress ($595), United Nude heels ($335), and a Club Monaco clutch. The watch, Cartier, as usual.
