A Vogue Idea: Carrie Bradshaw Comes to Glee

Remember that episode of Sex and the City when Carrie has an interview with the editor of Vogue, played by one Ms. Candy “Don’t Call Me Murphy” Bergen and she wears that gorgeous, asymmetrical pinstripe Vivienne Westwood suit with messy bedhead that I thought at the time should’ve been a neat chignon but Carrie’s always Carrie, am I right?¬†

A Vogue Idea: Carrie Bradshaw Comes to Glee

Well, Sarah Jessica Parker is headed back to the small screen for a several episode arc on Glee where she will be playing a editor. Notorious fashion plate Kurt Hummel — played by gay Messiah Chris Colfer — is expected to serve as her assistant, naturally.

Bradshaw’s Parker’s character is described as being¬†”sort of frazzled, eccentric and hilarious.” Sounds familiar if only because every character SJP plays is frazzled to some extent, eccentric to a fault and hilarious depending on who’s behind the script.

As previously reported, none other than actual Vogue‘s actual editor, Anna Wintour will be lending her discerning eye to SJP’s wardrobe.

It’s fun to think of this as an opportunity for two of the biggest queens television has ever seen — Carrie and Kurt — and self-styled fashion icons in their own rights to finally meet on hallowed ground.

After all, is it such a stretch of the imagination to think Carrie would eventually end up as an editor at Mercilessly raiding the shoe closet until she’s unceremoniously fired and has to crawl out in shame? Carrie’s always Carrie! [Vogue UK]
