H&M’s Conscious Collection: Sustainability and Style on a Budget

Edited by

Sustainability is a key component in H&M‘s business model, right along with high-profile designer collaborations and co-signing really bad reality television. The company has several initiatives to support its motto of a “more sustainable fashion future,” most visibly its Conscious Collection, which boasts eco-friendly materials such as organic cotton, recycled polyester, recycled plastic, organic linen , Tencel® — a renewable silk-like material made out of cellulose — and its latest addition, organic hemp.  With chic staples for him and her starting at $9.99, the Conscious Collection offers a fashionable and affordable way to reduce your carbon footprint and look adorable while doing it. And with Exclusive Conscious, the Collection’s dressier counterpart worn recently by Michelle Williams and Amanda Seyfried, there’s an always-welcome added dose of glamour. Assembled here are the biggest winners and losers of the Great Magazine Cover War of 2011.

Amanda Seyfried Continues to Amaze in Elle

Edited by

Girlfriend is on a winning streak. Amanda Seyfried is the April 2011 cover girl for Elle Magazine, and she looks incredibly fresh and beautiful. In a black and white spread shot by Alexei Hay, Seyfried charms with the cutest farm animals in the sweetest lace dresses. Valentino, Dolce & Gabbana and Alexander McQueen clothe the blond belle in all of her graciousness, styled by creative director Joe Zee. I am excited to see the talented actress appearing in so many great spreads as of late. Enjoy this gorgeous spread on this gorgeous Friday.

Amanda Seyfried is Stunning on the Cover of Interview

Edited by

The lovely and talented Amanda Seyfried looks extraordinarily beautiful on the March 2011 cover of Interview. Photographed by Mikael Jansson, the starlet looks sophisticated and lethally chic. I need to pick up this issue ASAP as the innards include a Seyfried interview by Justin Timberlake and the Proenza Schouler boys in a conversation with Chloe Sevigny.

WOMAN: Elle Turns 25 With Some Special Guests

Surprisingly young by powerhouse magazine standards, Elle’s 25th anniversary issue promises to be a pretty good one.  The womenswear magazine is following up their September issue with another big one in October, focusing on 25 women under 25.  With four different covers featuring Amanda Seyfried, Lauren Conrad, Gabourey Sidibe, and Megan Fox, there’s certainly something for everyone.  Jump for more info and a ‘holy abs!!’ moment.
