Ask any female celebrity, “Who’s your beauty icon?” and she’ll likely answer Jackie O, Audrey Hepburn, or Marilyn Monroe. But while those three classic beauties might be the most obvious contenders, they aren’t the only ones. I have a friend with red hair and fair skin who considers Julianne Moore her beauty icon, and takes cues from photos of Moore as to whether she can pull off a blue-ish red lipstick or a peachy blush herself. I also prefer having a current beauty icon because then her looks change with the trends.

Blake Edwards Having Breakfast in Heaven

Old people keep on dying and I don’t know what to do about it. Director Blake Edwards, best known for the original Pink Panther movies, Victor/Victoria and the iconic fashion film, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, is dead at 88. His widow, Julie Andrews, burst into an inappropriately cheery number after he passed, but left mourners feeling strangely cheery.
