Waxing Nostalgic: Kate Middleton in Issa, McQueen and Madame Tussauds

If the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge look a little more stiff than usual you can thank Madame Tussauds, the famed hall of wax build-ups, which revealed Kate Middleton‘s very first rendering today in London. Her royal fierceness wears an exact replica of the Issa dress in which she announced her engagement to Prince William all those many months ago. Simultaneous exhibits in the museum’s New York, Amsterdam and Blackpool locations feature the future Queen of England in dresses by Alexander McQueen, Temperley and Jenny Packham, respectively. I wonder if they captured Will’s thinning hair as well…

Sarah Burton Couldn’t Even Tell Her Parents About the Kate Middleton Wedding Dress

Keeping a secret in this day and age is pretty much unheard of, so the fact that the designer of Kate Middleton‘s wedding dress wasn’t revealed until the future Duchess of Cambridge elegantly alighted at Buckingham Palace was somewhat of a small miracle. But the Royal Family doesn’t eff around and had Alexander McQueen‘s creative head, Sarah Burton, sign a confidentiality agreement, meaning she couldn’t even tell her parents about the once in a lifetime opportunity.
