FASHION SCRAMBLE: L.B.D. Good Johnny Weir + Zee, Baby Ain’t I Good to You? + Gwyneth Good for Coach?

Edited by

- Olympic figure skater and all-around sassbag, Johnny Weir is designing a line of little black dresses exclusively through eDressMe.com. Ranging in price from $198 to $298, the LBDs will be modeled during the second annual “Ice Dreams” skating show — where young skaters get a chance to skate with their heroes — and will be available for purchase April 30. Naturally, Weir’s dresses are replete with ostrich feathers, sequins and taffeta, much like Johnny Weir himself. [WWD]

Holy Shoe! Jeffrey Campell Whittles My Soul

Edited by

Jeffrey Campell. You are tricky and elusive, everywhere and nowhere. And you make some fly freaking shoes that I can actually afford. For that, I thank thee. More importantly, I thank thee for these whittled platforms. Though they are sold out on I Don’t Like Mondays, I vow to find a way to make these mine. You call them the “Ivory Suede Skate Boot”, I call them an architectural triumph. They also remind me of mini rocking horses of yesteryear, ornate coat hooks, and actually now that you mention it, Johnny Weir. For just $223 and further retail research, this pair of wooden masterpieces will be on my whittle feetsies any day now. In unrelated news, my birthday is coming up soon….

Timo Weiland Trips with Gloria Vanderbilt and Keith Richards for Fall 2011

Edited by

This morning in The Box at Lincoln Center, Timo Weiland unveiled his wild ride of a collection. It was a fantastical trip from structured wools through bemused spots over to metallic wovens, touching a fur muff here and there. Johnny Weir was digging it! I’ll show you his favorite look. And just listen to Timo and his design partner dish about the collection – it’s a serious freaking trip.  Watch the interview after I take you through the collection highlights.

Down the Rabbit Hole with Richie Rich

Edited by

Villionaire, Richie Rich‘s Fall 2011 fashion extravaganza — for it was much more than a show — was  a wild romp through Wonderland with a pit stop over in the East Village. Tinsley Mortimer opened, JWOWW closed and somewhere along the way Johnny Weir skated out (figuratively) in what looked like a loincloth. But at the center of this three ring fashion circus were the clothes, a fun, wearable collection heavily inspired by the glamour of the 30s and 40s.

Float on Clouds of Rainbow Chiffon with Tadashi Shoji’s Fall 2011 Collection

Edited by

Greeted by a wall of blue sky and white clouds at the Tadashi Shoji fall 2011 show at Lincoln Center yesterday, it was obvious to see the designer’s inspiration came from the harmony of nature. Rock formations, the warping of branches and moss and the tranquility of water came through in flowing chiffon, twisting fabric and appliques used to architecturally build-out delicate silhouettes. Tadashi’s collections never lack the lovely gowns that will make any girl feel like a princess, and yards of lace, mesh and feathers carried observers on a cloud of elegant rainbow colors. Johnny Weir sat front row in a packed room, and models walked to up-beat pop music that brought the flowing fabric to life.

Christian Louboutin On Ice: Starring Johnny Weir

Edited by

In his most cutting shoe yet, Christian Louboutin’s next red soles will come with blades attached. He is creating custom skates for Olympic and National Champion figure skater (but way more impressively Skating With The Stars judge) Johnny Weir. Though no details have been officially released on the design, we can surmise it will be roaring with wild fur and/or diamond/crystal encrusted, and lord knows what else the legendary Louboutin will do to them. AKA they will be the most ferociously fabulous skates to ever hit the ice.
