Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel Wonder Cutely “What Are You Doing New Year’s Eve?”

Edited by

Usually anything this sickeningly precious makes me want to turn violent, but my love for Joseph Gordon-Levitt knows no bounds and I’ve grown to appreciate Zooey Deschanel as well as her new sitcom, New Girl. The two adorable actors knew each other some eight years before teaming up for (500) Days of Summer (sidebar: totes one of the best post-millennial romantic comedies, by the bye) and they’ve hooked up again to bring us this nifty rendition of  a Nancy Wilson classic, “What Are You Doing New Year’s Eve?” Try not to smile from all the gosh darn cuteness. Go head, I dare you.

The 69th Annual Golden Globes Nominations Also in Love with Ryan Gosling

Edited by

It’s been one hell of a year for a certain occasionally-bearded, dog-loving thespian cum hunk cum meme. While some — read: everyone — feel  he was unjustly robbed of another award earlier this year, Ryan Gosling is getting a double dose of appreciation from the 69th annual Golden Globe Awards. He’s pulled quite the hat-trick, getting nominated twice this year for Best Actor in a Comedy and Drama. Bradley Cooper was, to the surprise of everyone — read: no one — was not nominated for Limitless

Edited by

Oscar co-hosts, Anne Hathaway and James Franco lead the pack, along with Hathaway’s Love and Other Drugs co-star, Jake Gyllenhaal and the unlucky in love and other drugs Ryan Reynolds on the cover of Vanity Fair‘s 17th annual Hollywood Issue. The special issue features the best and brightest of young Hollywood. And Robert Duvall. He’s the creepy old bartender peeking out over Mila Kunis‘s arm as she completely owns this photo.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt For Details

Edited by

I have always thought that Joseph Gordon-Levitt has this really understated attractiveness like the boy next door except more artistic. Not only does he take the cover of Details but he also poses for a spread that reminds me of Tom Ford’s A Single Man. Keep reading for full spread…

MOVIES WITH STYLE: (500) Days of Summer

MOVIES WITH STYLE: (500) Days of Summer

In a city where woman are often portrayed as wearing giant sunglasses, Juicy Couture tracksuits, and carrying around tiny dogs, Summer’s look really stands out and shows a different style that can be found on the streets of LA. Her look could be described as modern-retro—and has a wardrobe mixed with new and vintage pieces. Zooey Deschanel’s character is always seen wearing something blue, which costumer Hope Hanafin says was inspired by the color of Zooey’s eyes.MOVIES WITH STYLE: (500) Days of Summer

This was done purposefully, as to make her character stand out to the audience, since nobody else is seen in that color. This color trait is also something that Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s character Tom associates with Summer, when you see that everyone is wearing blue in the dance sequence the night after Summer and Tom hook-up.

MOVIES WITH STYLE: (500) Days of Summer

I absolutely loved the costumes throughout the film—especially how adorable Tom looked in his sweater vests, skinny ties, suits, and graphic tees. Style definitely played a big role in the movie and storyline. It even added charm to Summer’s unlikable qualities, which allows you to understand why Tom could be infatuated with her, even though she’s not everything he thinks she is.
