I love the color palette for this collection. It reminds me of an early 90′s grunge movie if that makes sense. They are dark, dismal, and when you least expect it Marni throws in a splash of blue. The patterns are pretty good too!

Marni can do no wrong in my book! What do you think of this little snippet of the Spring 2010 collection?

Not sure how this is S/S 2010 but here it is….

It’s always interesting to see how certain runway pieces translate into event outfits, especially when they are worn by real life women instead of models. I also love that some pieces are altered to be more ‘ready to wear’ which gives them more life, although I must admit that it’s not fair that celebs get to wear collections not yet available for me to purchase.

Marni is gearing up for Fall with another pretty solid collection. The collection is a solid mix of dress pants with plaids, jumpers and coats. I love how the pants featured above bunch a bit at the knee and continue to be slim to the ankle. The collection definitel has some solid highlight pieces.

Marni released all the images for their upcoming Fall 2009 Collection, and I will say that it is one of my favorites so far. The collection shows a more elegant side to a Marc Jacobs-esque grunge look. The patterns and fabric choices are great, and the way the pieces are styled in these shots is great. I am a big fan of the colored and hiked legging looking pants, and the outwear is very well done.

Don’t get me wrong, I am absolutely in love with the patterns, prints, layers and colors used in the Marni S/S 2009 collection, but this styling seen on the runway isn’t exactly practical. The mixing and matching is completely fair game for high fashion runway, but I honestly don’t know a single place I could wear all of these prints and layers without people thinking I got dressed in the dark. Is it just me or is the Marni stylist’s aesthetic unwearable?

Calvin Klein: one word neon. Bright, bold, and requiring sunglasses
Ermenegildo Zegna: classic tailoring in classic neutral summer shades – oh and two pink suits.
Belstaff: Lots of shiny patent macs and plenty of colour to end Milan men’s fashion week.
Trends off the catwalk
THE GOOD
Bow ties – and not a dinner jacket in sight. A little ridiculous but harmless. This is men’s fashion week, let them have their fun.
THE BAD
Orange espadrilles – keep them to the beach love.
THE UGLY
Is a Versace Lamborghini too much? Possibly, but it might just have been the best looking fashion accessory of the week.
People
Armani pulled the big shots in again – this time for his mainline collection, Giorgio Armani. Clive Owen and Adrien Brody graced the front row. Full marks for the biggest A list attendees.
