Hervé Léger 2011 Chained Up and Bandaged

Edited by

After a flurry of press over Karolina Kurkova being in the front row and not on the runway, Hervé Léger started with a seat shaking vibrating techno bass that only got heavier throughout. Max Azria infused metal links into the Léger signature bandage. Houndstooth found itself growing and shrinking on alternating strips. Corsetry was pronounced in both leather and stretch, and linked cutouts made the body con even sexier. Hervé Léger 2011 Chained Up and Bandaged

This shoot is both heartwarming and refreshing. While fashion is a part, it’s more about the celebration of women and the girls shown in a most positive light. The shoot features one of my very favorite Style Icons, Iris Apfel. I have such admiration for her feistiness and belief in living life to the fullest. She’s a great inspiration, not to mention that she has a wardobe that goes unmatched by any that I’ve seen. That bag in picture one is to-die-for…..I wouldn’t expect anything less of Iris!

One of my favorite models is also featured; I have long been a fan of model, Elaine Irwin Mellencamp. She’s just as beautiful as she was when she started modeling back in the eighties, though she is a great deal more than a model beauty. The wife and mother made history back in 2001 when she became the first woman to drive the pace car at the Indianapolis 500. Hats off to all!

Monster Jewels

Edited by

I keep saying that I like my jewellery big, well I think I've found the biggest rings I've ever seen! These designs by Esther Eve are deliciously massive.

Silver with semi precious stones, some of these monsters could surely double as a weapon should you ever find yourself in a sticky situation and your ninja skills temporarily leave you!

(bergdorfgoodman.com)

I was thinking today, that I’ve owned a white dress…….at least not a dressy one. I’ve had the ocassional white sundress over the years, but never one for evening or a particular event. Maybe part of that had to do with the fact that in past years, the choices haven’t been so great, but now there are so many beautiful designs to choose from. If I were looking for a suit, I think I would go for something like the Aquilano Rimondi………..for a dress, the J. Mendel asymmetrical would be at the top of my list along with Notte by Marchesa’s halter-style lovely.

One of other things about the white dress, is that you must make sure that you have on the proper foundation garments. You know who you stand in the sunlight, or you’re coming through a revolving door or some such, and you can see right through it. That’s not always a good look. The second thing, is the dreaded spot (s)……….I would almost feel as though I need to be bubble wrapped, as I’m one of those who looks down and this spot has seemingly appeared out of nowhere. I don’t think that I’ll let those things stop me though………I would like to have one for the summer months ahead along with a great pair of silver metallic shoes. I’ll be on the lookout!
