NYFW Special Edition Shoe Envy: Homo Consummatus

Edited by

The Homo Consummatus show was larger than life, with giant models on a surreal film, interacting with their live model counterparts, only reaching knee high on the film version. Cathy Horyn Calls Oscar de la Renta a Hot Dog

Edited by

Everyone knows that the most offensive fashion industry insults come under the guise of greasy, fatty foods. Esteemed NYTimes fashion critic Cathy Horyn oddly called iconic designer Oscar de la Renta a “hot dog” in her official review of his Spring 2013 fashion show.  Rightfully offended, Mr. de la Renta bit back with an open letter printed in this morning’s  WWD, implying that if he were a hot dog, she was a stale, 3 day old hamburger.  We couldn’t have made up a better story. Read the letter after the jump.
