GREG GORMAN: A HOLLYWOOD ICON INTERVIEW by Navo

RUNWAY: MAX AZRIA FALL/WINTER 2010

RUNWAY: MAX AZRIA FALL/WINTER 2010

I’m not a huge fan of  this Max Azria collection, I think the color palette and the “clean lines” are BORING… Just my point of view!

RUNWAY: PAMELLA ROLAND FALL 2010

RUNWAY: PAMELLA ROLAND FALL 2010

Today, I went to the Pamella Roland show and I LOVED it, the show is definitely one of my favourite. The designer was inspired by the Classic Venetian glamour.

The show was pretty long because so many looks have been presented :  from asymmetrical wool shift dresses to glamourous beaded gowns. I loved the  classy headbands, the furs, the hats, the red carpet gowns… EVERYTHING!

That’s an amazing elegant collection! At the end of the show, Pamella Roland walked  with her children.

RUNWAY: Twinkle by Wenlan Fall/Winter 2010

RUNWAY: Twinkle by Wenlan Fall/Winter 2010

I was so impressed with the looks that came down the runway Saturday night at the Twinkle by Wenlan show!  Chunky cozy knits mixed with silk prints made for a totally luxurious feel for a very geometric-inspired collection.  The color palette was a mix of muted grey, navy, and olive with pops of purple, fuchsia, and marigold.  My favorite pieces were the lofty cut-out knit sleeveless sweater with the matte leather skinny pants. Let’s not forget about the accessories – rocker inspired jewelry – it never gets old!  Overall the show reminded me of walking through an open art gallery in the middle of the skyscrapers of a bustling urban city.  I would probably buy every piece in this collection.

VIDEO RUNWAY: Althea Harper Fall/Winter 2010

One word – DARKNESS.  Beginning the show with a dedication to her mentor, the late Lee McQueen, Althea’s show hit the intimate audience in the Sundaram Tagore Gallery with all the dark, shadowy, yet sexy, images one can only dream about. Models slipped by onlookers with slicked hair, pale skin, and black lips adorned in dark, see-thru cut outs, and hip hugging dresses.  Each look was paired with over sized metallic ball necklaces and a hint of skin here and there.  Sort of repetitive towards the end, but overall, you can tell why she picked the mentor that she did.

FIRST LOOK: Faster by Mark Fast

Modeled by Anouk Lepere and Hayley Morley (who caused controversy last fashion week because of her ’size’), Mark Fast’s new line ‘Faster’ is easy to wear and much more affordable. Said perfectly by and editor of Grazia: Think of the result as an uber flattering dance-inspired collection of body-sucking-thick-denier fabric creations, meaning flaunting some booty in these isn’t as scary as you first think.

RUNWAY: Bebe/Kardashian Fall/Winter 2010

RUNWAY: Bebe/Kardashian Fall/Winter 2010

So glad I didn’t get up for this show this morning, looking at the photos this is probably on the same level of awful as the Lindsay Lohan/Ungaro collection. Do the Kardashian’s realize that we are in Fall, not Spring with their boring Old Navy worthy shorts (even in leather, which we saw last season) and J.Crew like tops. Besides denim and tee shirts, which came straight out of a Joyce Leslie store, there were equally bad dresses made for a twelve year old skank, or the likes of (again) Lohan. The only halfway decent, partly original piece was a leather corset worn over a plain jersey dress.

Entire collection here.
Thanks Cotourture for the pics.
