10 Fashionable Flip Flops That Won’t Get You Arrested By The Street Feet Police

Edited by

Flip Flops - an ugly word for anyone who takes public transportation. When you wear all-around open shoes in New York City, you run the risk of getting garbage, creatures, gum, dirt, spit and other various sticky substances adhered to your toes. Gross! Most of the time, we keep these sandals reserved for grabbing a bagel in our respective neighborhoods and strolling the boardwalk on a sunny beach. But we know how hot and lazy summer can be, and there are some open sandals so cute that we’ll make an exception to the rule. Here are 10 fashionable flip flops that won’t get you arrested by the street feet police.

Memorial Day in the City: What to Do if You’re Stuck Here?

Edited by

If you’re like me (who is moving this week and has TONS of packing left to do) and are stuck in New York City for Memorial Day, how can you get a piece of the summer sun while roaming this urban jungle? Central Park is an option as is the Gansevoort rooftop pool, but it’s difficult to shake the feeling of wanting sand between your toes. Luckily we’re still on the coast, and plenty of beach options are a quick train ride away. If you’ve never been to Rockaway Beach, this is the weekend to go. Not only can your unlimited Metrocard get you there, but a slew of delicious Brooklyn food vendors are opening on the boardwalk for your eating and drinking pleasure. What to wear and consume while there? Click through for my picks.

BOUTIQUE CRITIQUE: 1 Of A Find Does Seven Vintage Looks

Edited by

When it comes to designer vintage, FashionIndie does not eff around.  We love everything about classic design – the uber-high quality, the meticulous craftmanship, the luxurious materials – not to mention the amazing stories that come with a Lanvin ball gown that is four decades old!  Every outfit tells a different story, and like we always say, the best stories are the ones told in designer.

This Boutique Critique is about the amazing designer vintage store, 1 Of A Find.  Curator and self-professed shopaholic Honey Moon goes on buying trips all over the world seeking out beautiful, unique, impossible-to-get-your-hands-on Hermes, Chanel, Gucci, Lacroix, and Lanvin to satisfy her international clientele.  She used me as a Barbie doll and transported me into worlds I only dream of.  Best part? Her prices are as unique as her collection, so we definitely recommend scooting over to her Brooklyn location asap.  Check out all our amazing finds after the jump.

The Mandals Scandal: Return of the Teva

Edited by

When it comes to sandals, I think they’re best worn at the beach or far away from public consumption. When it comes to flip-flops, I think they should just be thrown atop a burning trash heap since that’s the only good they’ll do anyone. But for some reason, fashion is embracing the Teva, the ugliest men’s footwear this side of a fluorescent Croc.
