A Birthday Wish for Sean & John Lennon: Give Peace a Chance, Not Fracking!

Edited by

Today, October 9th marks the day John Lennon came into existence, 72 years ago. On pop notes, Lennon’s name landed firmly in our vernacular with The Beatles, and as he evolved, aligning himself with love, he began to work for world peace with Yoko Ono in his NY years. Now his second son Sean Lennon, who is also celebrating a birthday today, is carrying on earth-changing movements with his mother Yoko. John was an antiestablishment, pro-humanity-minded artist, so, we’re sure the success of Sean’s and enviro-political Rolling Stone piece and organization against fracking would do John proud. Also, find out how Lady Gaga is supporting the cause with Yoko Ono today.

They say it’s Paul McCartney’s birthday! At 70-years-old, “The Cute Beatle” is still performing 3-hour concerts to packed stadiums, hopping around the stage like it was 1964. Perhaps the Safest Way to Lick Steve-O and Pam Anderson: PETA’s Celebrity Vegetarian Stamps

Edited by

Always willing to try any method — no matter how heavy-handed or preachy — to bring attention to the plight of animals, PETA has put 20 noteworthy vegetarians in a sticky situation. Through December and possibly into January, PETA will offer stamps bearing the likenesses of 20 celebrity vegetarians — such as Ellen Degeneres, Oscar-winner Natalie Portman, Pamela Anderson,  Sir Paul McCartney and that paragon of virtue Steve-O — as well as some historically herbivorous figures — Pythagoras, Gandhi, Johnny Appleseed, Leonardo da Vinci and Bob “The Price Is Right” Barker

The Bride Wears McCartney

Edited by

HUGE congrats to Paul McCartney and Nancy Shevell McCartney for tying the knot today!!! In a private affair with just friends and family including Ringo (duh) and Barbara Walters (Nancy’s second cousin who allegedly set them up years ago in the Hamptons), they wed at the same civil union office in London that Paul and Linda – his beloved first wife -got hitched in decades ago. Nancy wore, most fittingly, Stella McCartney – a just-above-the-knee long sleeve buttoned bright white dress. Perfect for a modest wedding of two happily ever after individuals. It’s real love, and we couldn’t be happier for them.

Paul and Stella McCartney Harmonize Music, Fashion and Ballet: Stars Stud Premiere

Edited by

The stars shone brightly over the McCartney family affair at Lincoln Center last night. Sir Paul McCartney premiered Ocean’s Kingdom, the first ballet of his own composing. His daughter, the fashion formidable Stella McCartney exquisitely costumed every ballerina in the production. From the red carpet poured in talent after beauty after me; Jon Bon Jovi, Sarah Jessica Parker, Alec Baldwin, Ralph Lauren, Candace Bushnell, the fabulous list goes on. Not only did we discover the sensational dresses that sauntered in on socialites and dancers, but the ballet was an emotional rush from all perspectives. See the fabulites, the costumes, and our close brush with Paul as he radiantly enters the building.

Stella and Paul McCartney: Champions of the World

Edited by

Stella McCartney runs her company like her father, Sir Paul, runs his world tours: Vegetarian. While there were literally thousands of positive words that could have filled that spot, being animal and earth friendly is a cause that the McCartney clan has embraced with a passion as a way of life. For Stella, using organic, non-toxic, animal-free materials is still secondary to designing beautiful clothes; she designs garments that women will love, and chooses fabrics that accomodate the world. Those facets are intertwine to become luxury fashion that sells a clean conscience. See what Stella has to say about it her sustainable mindset.
