We’re 21st century gals, raised knowing we are societally equal to the men in our world. With androgyny now a fashion fixture, putting power bitches on top, we’ve been raised healthily headstrong to dominate a pair of Doc Martens as kick ass as a six-inch heel. But perusing YourBellaLife.com, I got this momentary longing for a sexual divide in Reena Desai’s article, A Woman’s Power to Charm. Charm is our first and last alluring accessory, and our ancient feminine power may be getting squashed by our current frame of mind.

Hedi Slimane Ditched the Yves, but Brought 70s Boho Back to Saint Laurent Paris

Hedi Slimane did it. His finally public debut at Yves Saint Laurent Paris had us harking back to the boho chic of Saint Tropez in the 70s, where it really all began. Yves’s former partner Pierre Bergé has known all along that Hedi can do no wrong, while the not-invited noted 3-day-old hamburger Cathy Horyn strongly disagrees. What we saw was Slimane digging through the archives, achieving an updated silhouette, and crisp men’s tailoring on the style that solidified the French fashion house’s fame.

After Thierry Mugler’s presentation of their first line of handbags, the runway is set to showcase their Spring 2013 show tonight during Paris Fashion Week. Usually if you are not a fashion editor or celebrity, snagging a seat at this coveted fashion show can be a bit of a challenge. But no worries, Nicola Formichetti tweeted this morning that no tickets are required, just show up if you want to go.
