RUNWAY: The Row Fall 2010 Womenswear

RUNWAY: The Row Fall 2010 Womenswear Unless you live on the West Coast, I have a hard time believing you’ll be wearing many of these pieces, but regardless, Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen’s The Row had a successful runway debut. In its third season, The Row went dark, sophisticated and minimal with a variety of black, navy and cream draped, collarless items. Python print items and the slouchy tuxedo jacket reigned among my favorites, but with a collection this flawlessly good, you wouldn’t have a problem getting me to wear any of the looks.

For his return to NYC, Jeremy Scott channeled his inner Gaultier for this Fall 2010 presentation. Check out other looks here.

Should the McQueen Brand Go On Without Him?

Should the McQueen Brand Go On Without Him?

This morning it was announced that the McQueen brand will go on, and his previously scheduled Fall 2010 show will be presented since most pieces were already finished. Now, many are discussing whether or not this was the right decision, since Lee Alexander McQueen is irreplaceable as a person and designer. My question, since he left a few suicide notes (as per the police report) shouldn’t we be looking at those for an answer? He obviously knew what he was doing, he did make the decision to end his life, leaving the fate of his design legacy in the hands of those around him!

What do you guys think?

RUNWAY: Proenza Schouler Fall/Winter 2010

Last night I was quite upset for missing the Proenza Schouler Fall 2010 show at Milk, having to sit and slowly gauge my eyes out at Richie Rich which was running an hour late. But that’s not the point, the point is that looking at this collection, I’m actually glad I missed it. Many rave reviews came in via twitter, giving me the impression that I really made a mistake by not attending, tweets like ‘lets all take a moment to obsess, proenza schouler fall 2010′ and ‘even Anna was smiling.’

But looking at these photos I have to disagree. School girl chic looks more like school girl cheap or Gossip Girl on crack, whichever analogy you prefer. Not to mention that the models look like they have heroin addictions…

RUNWAY: Proenza Schouler Fall/Winter 2010

I’m usually one for the clashing of different patterns, but the styling looks more thrown together last min then deliberately paired.

Another major oops on their part, in my opinion, was the overly short hemlines and silhouettes used which resemble Topshop more than designer label.

Now tell me you guys disagree…

Elisa Palomino used to design for Moschino Cheap and Chic, she also worked for John Galliano, Dior, Cavalli and DVF, before she decided to launch her own label. She presented her debut collection yesterday, the decor was so beautiful and a live band was performing for the show

I loved this collection, the pink color omnipresence made me think of the movie ”Marie-Antoinette” by Sofia Coppola, the crazy haird and make-up was AMAZING. This debut floral inspired collection was quite impressive.

Coco Rocha Addresses This Weeks Weight Controversy

Coco Rocha Addresses This Weeks Weight Controversy

”I’m a 21 year old model, 6 inches taller and 10 sizes smaller than the average American woman. Yet in another parallel universe I’m considered “fat”… This was the subject of major discussion this week and the story that was spun was: “Coco Rocha is too fat for the runway”.”
