Lindsay Lohan to Guest on ‘Glee’, Azealia Banks Rocks Chanel and Jennifer Lawrence Apparently Not Hungry Enough

Edited by

- The Lindsay Lohan comeback train is firing on all cylinders as her reps have confirmed the occasional actress will appear on an episode of Glee. I hope that means someone’s dusting off “Rumors” — looking at you Kurt Hummel. And in even more exciting news, EGOTer Whoopi Goldberg will appear on three episodes. [E!]

- Anna Wintour, Sarah Jessica Parker, Uma Thurman and Yoko Ono are just some of the celebs to model Chanel‘s iconic jacket for the luxury brand’s recently launched e-exhibition site, thelittleblackjacket.chanel.com. [Fashionista]

#NYFW Cheat Sheet: Tommy Hilfiger AW12

Edited by

Looking around the scene at Tommy Hilfiger’s fall 2012 runway show I thought I had mistakenly wandered into an English garden. Vines of ivy twisted their way along brick columns and trees fully in bloom sat in their own separate little fields. If not for the giant catwalk winding around those fields, I would’ve expected a tea party to commence at any second. From this setting I also expected very light, dainty, ladylike fare – but from the first look it was apparent that the house that Tommy built was not serving tea. A thread of military dressing ran through the collection, centered heavily on coats in shearling, bonded leather and Melton wool. Dresses in silk suggested a ladylike quality, but this lady’s ready to face the ravages of fall and stare it down till the spring.

Oprah and Ralph: The Saga Continues

Edited by

Oprah may have hung up her television mic and camera-ready wig, but that doesn’t mean she’s given up the role of interviewer par excellence. Eschewing his sprawling Colorado ranch, legendary designer Ralph Lauren coaxed the big O out for a night at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tulley Hall to sit down and chat about…him to raise money for the Ralph Lauren Center for Cancer Care and Prevention and Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts.

Celebrity Makeup Disasters

Edited by

If there’s one thing Hollywood has taught us, it is that celebrities can do absolutely nothing for themselves.  Teams of people are hired to put together the prim and proper starlets of La La Land to the point where the ladies have no clue what to do without them.  This led us to wonder, what happens to celebs when they are left to do their own makeup?  Inspired by miss Lindsay Lohan’s latest courtroom bronzer blunder, we’ve gathered our favorite celebrity makeup mistakes in this little roundup for you.   Enjoy!

Uma Thurman: Cannes Best Dressed List

Edited by

Uma Thurman has always been an A-List actress, but at Cannes last month, Uma took her fashion choices to the next level and blew the competition out of the water. Thurman sat alongside Jude Law, Robert De Niro and six others on the 64th Annual Cannes Film Festival jury, requiring that she not only watch all 20 films in the competition, but also attend red carpet premiers, photo calls and after-parties in her Cannes best.

Turning Classic Movies Presents: When Model Turns Actress

Edited by

Liya Kebede is the latest in a long line of catwalkers to add the foreboding hyphenate “actress” to her title. But unlike so many models before her, she has taken a quieter route towards the big screen. Desert Flower, opening this Friday exclusively at New York’s Angelika and in Los Angeles, is based on the story of Waris Dirie, a victim of female circumcision who was sold into marriage before becoming a model in the late-80s. Heady stuff. Kebede could become a legitimate actress (and thus earn the title, “former model” like Charlize Theron and Uma Thurman), but what about the other model-actresses who have left their own memorable impressions on cinema?

Dive Into a World of Fantasy & Beauty With Lolli Popitt

Edited by

Designer Amanda Elle wasn’t originally the type of girl who dreamt of becoming a fashion designer. But in 2009, Amanda launched a couture-inspired clothing label and then jewelry brand in New York City. Born, a natural artist, attending a specialized high school for the arts as well as NYU Steinhardt’s studio arts program, studying drawing, photography & sculpture, she brought her creative flare to the fashion world. From experimenting with her artistic talents, she created Lolli Popitt – a tastefully provocative and fantastically girlie line which brings you the joy of childhood dress-up in the realm of high fashion — and jewelry line Crystal Knuckles which already has loyal fans like Uma Thurman and Ke$ha. I was able to stop by Lolli Land, her Chelsea design studio, and talk to Amanda about the labels & her transcendence from sculptor to designer, what inspires her and what she has in store for Lolli Poppitt and Crystal Knuckles.

Uma Thurman Caught With Her Nose in the Cokey Jar

Edited by

I’m assuming that Uma Thurman’s make-up artist was recently fired (or promoted for finding the good stuff you just can’t get enough of).  Either that or Uma’s a vampire who can’t see her reflection in mirrors, so embarrassing…

QUOTE: Manolo Blahnik

“I hate celebrities. All those pointless girls — I won’t name names, but you know who I mean. They are ‘famous’. Ridiculous. I like women with style: actresses like Uma Thurman, icons like Audrey Hepburn. I like women with style to wear my shoes.”
