With Mother’s Day right around the corner – next Sunday, May 8 to be exact – we are all wondering what special gift we can give to the most fabulous woman in our lives. Flowers, jewelry and dinner have all been done, so what can you do that is fun and different? Borghese sent some very special products to the FashionIndie office to test drive in honor of our moms, and together, they make the perfect at-home Mother’s Day spa. See product reviews and how to use them after the jump.

Treat Mom to a Mothers Day Spa in Your Own Home

Fango Ristorativo, Restorative Hydrating Mud for Face & Body

What it is: This multi-purpose mask helps nourish and replenish skin with vital marine nutrients and Borghese’s signature Acqua di Vita® Complex. This luxurious mask helps protect against environmental damage, reduces redness and fights against inflammation of the skin.

What I thought: After applying a thick layer of this mask to the face and body for 10 minutes, skin felt softer and my pores looked clean and refreshed. I noticed a brighter complexion with reduced redness as well.

Botanico Eye Compresses

What it is: These refreshing eye pads use anti-inflammatory extracts Tea Leaf, Goldenseal and witch hazel that soothe puffy, tired eyes. Borghese’s Acqua di Vita® Complex restores moisture balance to the delicate eye area. Dermatologist and ophthalmologist tested, these pads are suitable for contact wearers and sensitive eyes.

What I though: Most eye de-puffers do not deliver what they promise, so I was skeptical as I placed one eye compress over each of my peepers. After lying back and relaxing for five minutes, I removed the pads and gently patted excess gel around the eye area. I looked in the mirror and voila! Nine hours of sleep, seven days in a row appeared on my face. Believe it because they really do work.

Cura-C Anhydrous Vitamin C Body Scrub

What it is: This rich, water-free body scrub is formulated to eliminate dull surface cells while delivering Vitamin C to your skin, leaving it revitalized and moisturized. Shea butter, squalane, Sunflower oil and Carrot Oil soften and smooth skin while Multi Vitamin CoQ10 Complex provides anti-oxidant protection from free radicals.

What I thought: I have never used a water-free scrub, so I was shocked at how smooth and nonabrasive this formula was. It smells and feels so rich, almost like you are using pureed fruit on your body. This is the perfect scrub to prepare for bare summer skin because it makes your complexion glow.
