Vivienne Tam Uses Cosmology to Create a Shipshape Collection for Spring

The designer was inspired by the five elements of Chinese cosmology – metal, wood, fire, water and earth – for the line, each of which is defined by a shape, color, texture and power. “Cosmology is something I’ve always loved, so why not use fashion as a vehicle to express it?,” Tam said. “The universe is all about shapes – squares, circles, triangles etc. – and I love the idea of using cosmology to express this concept through the silhouettes, textures and materials of the garments in this collection mixed with the TSL Jewelry.”

The official Vivienne Tam after party and launch of her jewelry collaboration with TSL was at Hakkasan New York where I got to chat with Tam and enjoy delicious bites and sip champagne. Overall, it was a great affair with which to close New York Fashion Week. See all of the collection photos below.
