Condé Nast Japan is switching its efforts from creating Vogue Homme Japan to a new Japanese version of GQ Style. The mag strives to continue the success of GQ Style in other countries to create the perfect men’s publication for the Japanese men’s market.
Created in September 2008, Vogue Homme Japan will cease publication to make way for a Japanese version of GQ Style. It will debut in March as a supplemental element to GQ Japan‘s May issue. To be released as a semiannual standalone the following September, the mag is a step forward in the search for a perfect fit inside of the Japanese men’s market. The new publication is to be overseen by Masafumi Suzuki, but where does this lead current fashion director Nicola Formichetti? Is the designer leaving his position to focus more on the upcoming release of his own line Formichetti?
The (now former) fashion director/ Lady Gaga stylist/ Thierry Mugler creative director is reportedly creating a high-tech fashion line. Read up on Nicola Formichetti’s fashion label slated to debut online in 2013 here.
